Early Morning Intertidal Walk About on Pulau Semakau, Singapore's Landfill Island
Let's talk trash.
What we mean is, Singapore's Semakau Island.
If you haven't "bin" there, it will definitely surprise you to know that lush green Semakau, which covers an area of about 3.5 square kilometres, is Singapore's first and only offshore landfill.
It also happens to be an absolutely beautiful place with thriving wildlife of the avian and marine creature variety.
About 8 kilometres south of the main island of Singapore, we'll take the ferry over — a treat in itself!
Upon landing on Semakau, we'll embark on an intertidal walk before joining a tour to learn all about Singapore's approach to trash management before heading off to check out its facilities. We should be back on "terra firma" by 12pm.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY SINGAPORE RESIDENTS (IE CITIZENS, PRS OR OTHERS ON RESIDENCY VISAS) MAY VISIT SEMAKAU. PLEASE PROVIDE EACH INDIVIDUAL'S NATIONALITY & SINGAPORE RESIDENCY DETAILS, INCLUDING IC/FIN NUMBER, WITH YOUR BOOKING.
* This tour is not suitable for toddlers or children in strollers.
* There is a 30 minute walk from the jetty to the intertidal area.
ALSO WE ARE LIMITING THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON THIS TOUR TO 10 SO PLEASE BOOK EARLY.
